För det första så måste jag säga att jag gillade Crossed mer än Matched och eftersom Matched fick en fyra och jag inte riktigt känner att denna är värd en femma, så får ni se fyran som en starkare fyra än den Matched fick :)
Om man ser till handlingen, i jämförelse med första boken, så står den ganska still och det känns lite som en "vilopaus" innan sista boken. Fokus ligger inte på att få historien att färdas framåt så mycket utan mer på karaktärsutveckling, tankar, dikter och tillbakablickar. Fast det är egentligen fel att säga att det inte händer något, för det gör det, bara inte på det sätt som man förväntar sig att det ska hända saker. Jag kan tänka mig att många skulle tycka att Crossed är långsam och lite tråkig, men trots att jag vanligtvis föredrar högt tempo, måste jag medge att jag tyckte om den väldigt mycket. För mig gör det inte så mycket att historien "står still" eftersom man får så mycket information om världen den utspelas i, karaktärernas personligheter och bakgrund, rebellrörelsen osv. Det var väldigt intressant och faktiskt något som jag saknade i första boken. Jag gillar när man får komma djupare in i historien och lära känna karaktärerna mer än bara "ytligt". Många av mina tidigare frågor blev besvarade, samtidigt som nya frågetecken dök upp och väckte nytt liv i berättelsen.
Det som jag gillade mest med Crossed var att vartannat kapitel var ur Ky's PoV. Ky har hela tiden varit min favoritkaraktär eftersom han är så mystisk och det är så svårt att lista ut vem han egentligen är, och det var roligt att få höra hans tankar som omväxling. Man fick lära känna honom på ett annat sätt då och inte bara så som Cassia ser honom. Om jag ska var helt ärlig så hade boken varit ännu bättre om den bara varit ur Ky's PoV för jag kände att man blev lite trött på Cassia och hennes delar av boken var inte alls lika roliga att läsa. Även om jag ibland kunde förstå varför hon gjorde som hon gjorde, så kunde jag ändå inte låta bli att irritera mig på henne. Dessutom kändes det lite jobbigt när triangeldramatemat plötsligt dök upp igen. Jag som trodde att hon i princip redan valt, men nejdå. Knappt fyra kapitel in i boken så är velandet mellan Ky och Xander igång igen. Det funkar ibland, men inte när man som läsare redan känner att det är uppgjort. Det blir löjligt på något sätt och det känns som att triangeldramat finns där bara för att det "måste" finnas.
Förutom Ky, Cassia och Xander  presenteras en rad nya karaktärer och jag gillade dem allihop. Trots att de var nya så kände man ganska snabbt att man fick ett grepp om hur de var som personer och vad de hade varit med om tidigare, samtidigt som det fanns det där hemlighetsfulla över dem som får en att vilja veta mer.
Som helhet var det här, trots lite småsaker här och var, en riktigt bra bok. Jag ser fram emot sista delen och hoppas innerligt att Condie fortsätter med Ky's PoV, eftersom det var den största anledningen till att jag tyckte om boken så mycket som jag gjorde.

Efterlängtade nykomlingar :)

Idag hämtade jag mina två andra pris-böcker, Mitt klimatkatastrofala liv av Saci Lloyd och Arvtagaren av Christopher Paolini (900 sidor! Kommer inte orka hålla i boken bara sen när jag läser...^^), som jag fått vänta på ganska så länge. Är väldigt nyfiken på den förstnämnda, som verkar va riktigt spännande :) Innan jag kan läsa den andra måste jag först köpa de tre första i Eragon-serien^^

Har äntligen fått hem en liten del av priset - Resten får du ta reda på själv av Lauren Oliver - från novelltävlingen jag blev finalist i, men väntar fortfarande på de andra två böckerna. Hoppas de också dyker upp snart... :)

Precis som första boken tog det ett tag innan jag riktigt kom in i själva berättelsen och tillsammans med det ganska långsamma tempot blev det lite drygt att läsa. Kan erkänna att jag inte alls var särskilt pepp på att ens plocka upp boken igen efter att jag lagt ifrån mig den, vilket känns lite tråkigt. Å andra sidan menar jag inte att det var dåligt på något sätt, för när jag väl läst några kapitel började det bli riktigt bra.

Jag gillar fortfarande att man får följa ganska många olika människor, som på ett eller annat sätt påverkas av varandra och det blir betydligt mer spännande när man får läsa om problemen ur allas synvinklar. Man förstår verkligen hur lätt det är för en liten missuppfattning eller lögn eller hemlighet att förstoras och bli till en väldigt komplicerad situation där ingen riktigt vet vem de ska lita på. Ett exempel på det är bland annat slutet av boken som var riktigt oväntat och väldigt sorgligt! (Fick nästan en liten tår i ögat där...^^)

Några karaktärer som jag riktigt fastnat för är bland andra Henry Schoonmaker och Diana, som inte är rädda för att tänja på gränserna och som båda för första gången upptäcker hur det känns att verkligen älska någon. Och så Will och Elizabeth - blir galen när jag tänker på dem och på hur allt slutade... Några jag däremot inte gillade alls av någon anledning, kanske rent av hatade lite grann till och med^^, var Penelope och Lina. Frustrerande att läsa hur de tänker!

Även om boken på sina ställen blev ganska långdragen, så gillade jag den. Tyvärr var det alltså tempot som drog ner på betyget fastän jag verkligen tycker boken är läsvärd! :) Jag antar att jag blivit smått beroende av böcker med högt tempo. Hoppas verkligen att det blir lite lättare att ta sig igenom tredje delen, för jag är sjukt nyfiken på hur allt går, om saker och ting, som de var när den här boken slutade, någonsin kan redas ut och bli bra?

Åh, såg precis att en ny Hunger Games trailer finns ute! :D Du hittar den här. 
Kan säga att jag redan tittat på den mer än tio gånger och jag dör lite varje gång. Så galet bra. Kan någon uppfinna en tidsmaskin och skicka mig direkt till den 23 mars? Snälla?

Blev en liten förbättring när det gäller lästa böcker. Speciellt antalet sidor jag läst :O Hoppas på att kunna fortsätta så, men jag märker hur svårt det är att hinna med läsning nu när skolan är igång igen. Får försöka klämma in så många böcker jag kan i februari och snart är det ju lov också så då borde det finnas tid för en massa läsning :)


Den här gången var det riktigt svårt att välja både månadens bästa och sämsta bok - har i stort sett läst nästan bara bra böcker! Tänkte först välja The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, som förtjänar att utnämnas som bästa bok, eftersom den var så annorlunda gentemot vad jag tidigare läst och jag älskade mystiken och alla oväntade vändningar i den. Men i slutändan, efter att igår ha läst den underbara boken Dustlands - Blodröd väg, var jag helt enkelt tvungen att välja den istället :)

Läste lite fler böcker den här månaden, men några var rätt korta och så var det ett seriealbum också så jag vet inte om jag borde räkna det som en förbättring, men jag är nöjd ändå. Jag siktar på att hinna läsa ungefär lika många nästa månad och gärna någon lite längre bok. Känner att jag längtar lite efter det nu när jag läst så många korta.


Tycker att det här var en bra läsmånad och det blev många höga betyg. Roligt! Bäst var Jellicoe Road (Big surprise..), men om jag inte räknar med omläsningar så tar The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer hem förstaplatsen. Tyckte väldigt mycket om den boken och ser verkligen fram emot uppföljaren. Sämst var Var är Alaska? Lite tråkigt med tanke på att alla andra verkar gilla den jättemycket, men den var tydligen ingenting för mig.
