Här är några av böckerna som står på min önskelista i år. Finns ju så galet många böcker som verkar bra och jag vill ha allihop :)

Kan passa på att säga att det står lite still på läsfronten just nu. Jag har inte ens börjat på Between Shades of Gray, men jag hoppas hinna läsa lite i helgen. Sen är det snart jullov också och då hoppas jag att det blir en massa tid till läsning. Det är i alla fall inga läxor som behöver göras då :)

Författarbesök

Igår kväll var jag och lyssnade på författaren Lasse Berg som berättade om sin senaste bok Skymningssång över Kalahari - Hur människan bytte tillvaro. Intressant, men hade inte riktigt räknat med att det skulle bli en föreläsning om människans historia, utan tänkte mig nog att det mer skulle handla om författaren och om själva skrivandet.



Hade fortfarande kvar bilden från förra författarbesöktet i bakhuvudet då Torgny Karnsted var där och pratade (bland annat om sin bok Låtsaskungen). Trodde att det här skulle vara på samma sätt, men antar att alla författare har olika upplägg..


Jaja, som jag sa så var det faktiskt väldigt intressant och på sina ställen ganska roligt. Så även om det inte blev som jag hade tänkt mig så var det i alla fall en trevlig föreläsning :)

Underworld

Skrev ju i mitt senaste jultips om boken Abandon av Meg Cabot och nu hittade jag precis uppföljaren som heter Underworld. Boken ges ut den 28 maj nästa år och är alltså del 2 i Abandon-trilogin.

Vet inte vad ni säger, men jag blir bara mer och mer sugen på att läsa den.. ja, självklart första också! :)

Skuggvandrare

Kom hem igår efter en låång dag i skolan och hittar ett litet paket till mig. Det visade sig vara Skuggvandrare som jag beställde förra veckan. Gissa om det räddade min kväll! :) Nu kan jag äntligen läsa det fristående slutet på serien Skuggvarelser.

Är faktiskt ganska nyfiken på hur allt kommer att sluta. Tänkte redan efter förra boken att det borde komma en uppföljare eftersom den slutade lite abrupt på något vis, som om det fattades en hel del man bara ville få reda på och veta mer om. Hoppas verkligen att Magnus Nordin lyckats få ihop ett bra slut på historien om Daniel och Kira. Har höga förväntningar! :)

Själv är jag mest nyfiken på Hungerspelen, har inte läst dem än, men har hört en massa bra om dem. Bra dessutom att det är alla böckerna i en box (som än en gång är mycket prisvärd). Hela serien kommer ut i box på svenska inom den närmsta framtiden, så håll utkik efter den också om ni hellre föredrar dem på svenska. Sedan verkade sista Immortal Beloved väldigt intressant :)

Klappa händer små

Klappa händer små är en fantastisk, bisarr saga fylld med svart humor och extremt vackra människor, valthornsmusik, ett självmordsmuseum, en man som ser precis ut som Pavarotti, okonventionella dieter, en levande solstråle, en städerska dömd till helvetet och en hund som heter Hans. Bröderna Grimm möter Tim Burton.

När Pavarottis fru grundade ett anti-självmordsmuseum hade hon inte räknat med att det skulle motverka sitt syfte och att människor skulle smyga in om nätterna och ta livet av sig med hjälp av utställningarna. Än mindre hade hon räknat med att stadens doktor döljer en hemlighet som får det att vända sig i magen. Eller att den gamle mannen hon anställt som intendent äter spindlar. Samtidigt, i en by långt borta, förälskar sig den vackraste av flickor i den vackraste av pojkar, en bagare med brustet hjärta spelar valthorn och stadens mest ineffektiva poliskonstapel avslöjar, med viss hjälp av hunden Hans, ett brott så groteskt att det kommer att skaka världen.

Först och främst fann jag det ytterst intressant att få läsa om alla makabra hemligheter och bisarra händelser, som på något sätt löpte parallellt med varandra och liksom degades ihop på slutet till en härlig massa. Det fanns många fina och konstiga och hemska saker i boken som verkligen fångade mig. En av dem var till exempel den ganska sorgliga berättelsen om den vackra flickan Madalena och den vackra pojken Mauro och även bagaren med brustet hjärta som spelade valthorn.

Men också berättelsen om doktorn som levde på en lite annorlunda diet tillsammans med sin hund Hans. För att inte tala om den torra gamla mannen som med god min knaprade på spindlar som kastade sig in i hans gap om nätterna. Ja, det finns alltså egentligen mycket gott att säga om boken, saker som många gånger fick mig att skratta.

Men (för det finns nästan alltid ett men) jag hittade inte riktigt den där lusten att läsa vidare. Även om jag var nyfiken på hur allt skulle sluta kände jag inget speciellt sug efter att ta mig tid och läsa mig till det. Jag ville helt enkelt bara veta det för att sedan kunna gå vidare och så inget mer med det. Lite tråkigt, får jag nog säga, eftersom jag drogs med i berättelsen med ett stort leende på läpparna.

Ett litet plus, dock, är att leendet emellertid återkom, bland annat på sista sidan. Är man sugen på annorlunda läsning är detta ett riktigt bra val och jag måste nog erkänna att jag har en liten förkärlek för sådana här typer av historier. Synd bara att det inte riktigt höll hela vägen.

Detta blev ett vääldigt långt inlägg ;) Ska inte göra det ännu längre genom att prata på om böckerna, men vill ändå säga att det är många böcker som verkar bra och Clockwork Prince är den jag ser mest fram emot. Jag har inte läst den första Clockwork Angel än, men jag älskar Cassandra Clare´s The Mortal Instruments, så jag tror att jag kommer gilla dessa också. :)

Tja, det blev ju inte så värst mycket läst denna månaden insåg jag nu. Får nog lov att erkänna att jag varit ganska slö med läsandet och det mesta har faktiskt blivit läst sista veckan (är inne på min tredje bok denna veckan). Vet dock att jag med all säkerhet kommer att börja läsa som en galning nu framöver- dels på grund av att jag har en hel massa nya spännande böcker som ligger och väntar på mig och dels för att jag blir betydligt mer peppad att läsa nu när jag skriver blogg också. Det är så himla kul att berätta om allt jag läser! :)

Månadens bok är ett ganska enkelt val för mig och även om Pojkarna gjorde ett mycket gott intryck på mig räckte det inte riktigt hela vägen fram - det får helt enkelt bli, utan tvekan, de två sista TRE-böckerna - mördarens ansikte och de som lever vidare. (Ja, egentligen hela serien, men har ju inte läst hela i november..) Och ni som inte har läst dem - snälla gör det! Helt underbart bra kan jag lova :)

Även om det inte blev så många lästa böcker den här månaden är jag nöjd. Så här i slutet av terminen tar skolan upp enorm mycket tid, och jag är förvånad över att jag faktiskt hann läsa fem böcker. I och för sig var två av dem böcker som skulle läsas i skolan, men i alla fall ^^

Det var inte alls svårt att välja månadens bästa bok. Det fanns ingen som var i närheten av Jellicoe Road. Jag satte i och för sig 5/5 på Amy & Roger's Epic Detour också, men Jellicoe Road var så många gånger bättre. Tycker fortfarande lika mycket om den nu, som när jag läste ut de. Om inte mer. Ni får bara inte missa den! :)

Hoppas på mer läsning under december, i och med jullovet. Har en enorm hög med olästa böcker som jag verkligen ser fram emot att läsa. :)

Jag är riktigt kluven när det gäller en här boken. Den första boken, Firelight, var helt okej och den slutade med en riktig cliffhanger som fick mig att vilja läsa fortsättningen. Jag tänkte att det nog skulle bli bättre, men nej. Det blev snarare sämre. De karaktärer jag faktiskt gillade en aning i fösta boken sjönk som stenar i Vanish. 

Jacinda, huvudpersonen, är en av de jobbigaste karaktärerna jag någonsin läst om. Undrar om man kan klaga mer än vad hon gör? Tror inte det. Det känns som om 2/3 av boken består av hennes klagande och eviga velande.  Ena stunden vill hon bara få vara med Will igen, för att i andra klänga på Cassian. Jag har inget emot kärlekstrianglar egentligen, många bra böcker har dem, men i Vanish blev det bara patetiskt. Jag brydde mig inte alls om vem Jacinda skulle välja och då försvinner hela poängen.. Dessutom kändes  Jacindas plötsliga Cassiancruch påtvingad på något sätt. 

Det fanns ingen karaktär som jag fastnade för och handlingen var inte heller särskilt imponerande. Som sagt tar Jacindas klagande upp större delen av boken, men ändå är där någonting som får mig att fortsätta läsa. Det är det som är det konstiga och jag vet inte riktigt vad det är. 

Jag tycker att historien har potential och jag gillar konceptet med drakar, eller draki,  som för övrigt var anledningen till att jag började läsa serien. Men tyvärr funkar det inte hela vägen. Det kunde blivit så bra och det är tråkigt att det inte blir det. 

Dessutom är lite synd att jag genom de här två böckerna inte lyckats få ett grepp om hur en draki ser ut.  Beskrivningarna lyckas inte ge mig en sammanhängande bild, utan lämnar mig bara med små lösryckta bitar som jag, utan framgång, försöker pussla ihop. Resultatet blir inte bra, och jag kan inte tänka mig att det är så författaren föreställt sig dem i sina ögon ^^ 

Det här blev en väldigt negativ recension, men även om jag inte gillade Vanish särskilt mycket, så är jag nästan helt säker på att jag kommer plocka upp uppföljaren, Hidden, när den kommer ut, för precis som Firelight slutade Vanish med en cliffhanger som fick mig att vilja veta mer. Man kan ju alltid hoppas att det blir bättre..

Tävling - påminnelse!

Tänkte bara påminna om tävlingen på Bookrelated som Frida tipsade om tidigare :) Och så får jag väl säga att tävlingen hos BonnierCarlsen avslutades igår och nu är det bara till att vänta på att vinnaren ska utses och det får vi reda på den 12 december.

Beslutsångest

Att bestämma sig för vilka böcker man ska beställa är verkligen megasvårt. Har suttit i en hel evighet och lite till och försökt att komma fram till vilken bok jag nog skulle vilja ha helst just nu och vilka jag möjligtvis kan beställa senare och jag måste säga att det var näst intill omöjligt. Lyckades i alla fall till slut bestämma mig för en och resten får vänta tills efter jul, när plånboken väcks till liv igen.

Det blev alltså fristående och sista delen i serien Skuggvarelser av Magnus Nordin. Den heter alltså Skuggvandrare och är bok tre i serien. 

Väntar nu med spänning på det avgörande slutet! :)
